About This Blog
Hi, my name is DK Raymer. Welcome to my newest blog, Pages from Paddlebrook. Right off the bat you should know you are reading fiction. Sheila and Sammy - and all the residents of Paddlebrook - exist only in my head.
I am a writer; I love fiction. I create and develop projects for a family entertainment company. My husband and I also own a small Midwest publishing company. This blog is an introduction to one of our projects. Think of it as an on-line prequel to the first book in a new fiction series. This prequel is told in blog entries, entries "written by" 2 of the main characters in the series - Sammy and Sheila Watson.
I've wanted to introduce this project for a long time. The inspiration for it comes from my own experience; I was raised in a small tourist town in the midwest. My husband was administrative pastor for a church there and I know all too well the challenges and pitfalls of living in, and ministering to, a tourist town. I wanted to tell a story - not of a single church - but a story about people of faith in an entire community. And that is how Paddlebrook began. The characters in this work are fictional, so any resemblance to any person - living or dead - are purely coincidental. (Gotta get that legal disclaimer in there.)
I invite you to read this blog, get to know Sammy and Sheila. I think you'll have fun here. If you'd like to know more about me you can visit my personal journal, A Flyover Blog. I welcome your comments, so feel free to leave one.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope you'll become a regular visitor to Paddlebrook.
All the Best -
