Mitch Raymer

Hi, I'm Mitch Raymer, author of Your Path To A Job.  I'd like to thank you for stopping by my blog.  This is my first published book, but I'm not a stranger to this topic.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and was raised in southern Illinois.  Right after high school, I went to work in the nearby coal mines and spent 6 years there. Then I moved to Oklahoma, went to college and worked in the grocery business.

After college I moved to Florida and went to work in restaurant management.  I managed a seafood restaurant right off Cypress Gardens, and a themed restaurant in the Panhandle.  I stayed in Florida several years, moved to the Missouri Ozarks to be closer to my family.  I met Debra there.  I also found God, and a terrific church, Fellowship at Cross Creek. There, I became an elder and an ordained pastor.  Debra and I were married in 1989, and still live in the same popular little tourist town where we met.

For the past 14 years, I've worked in Administration and Human Resources for a chain of Midwest retail stores.  In that time, I've reviewed thousands of job applications and interviewed nearly as many people.  I quickly discovered that many of the people I encountered couldn't fill out a simple application or know how to prepare for a job interview. 

Several years ago, I began teaching a job preparation class at a local halfway house. I was asked to adapt this course for high school students and adults who wanted to brush up on their job-hunting skills. This book is the result of that course.

DK Raymer handles "all things marketing" for the Team.  She is smart, beautiful, funny, compassionate, a tireless researcher, great communicator... and she's my wife!

Debra Kay (that's what I call her) has been a driving force behind this book.  She is no stranger to the publishing business; she had a best-selling novel for Bertelsmann in Germany a few years ago.  Together, we founded our new publishing company, Flyover Media this past summer.

In addition to being a novelist, DK writes movie scripts for a family entertainment company in New York.  And in her spare time - well, she writes then too.

DK loves horses, dogs, gardening (which one day she hopes to have time to actually do) and learning to play the guitar.

Jim Brawner

Jim Brawner is a friend, a colleague, a brother-in-Christ, a limitless source of encouragement, and an integral part of the FYP Team! 

Jim is founder of Team Barnabas, a growing speaker's bureau that focuses on needs in the Christian community.  Areas of specialty include Church Leadership, Marriage, Family, and the importance of each within the church family.

Team Barnabas represents some of the world's greatest speakers, singers and entertainers, including such luminaries as Gary Smalley, Brad Bennett, Suzette Brawner, Jill Brawner-Jones, John Tesh, Dr. Greg Smalley, Michael Smalley, Stephen Moore, and many others.

Jim is an experienced educator and holds a M.Ed. For many years, Jim has trained Small Group Leaders with the Smalley Relationship Center, and now offers this training to churches to help them meet the needs of their growing congregations. Jim is also a fine writer.  He co-authored the book, Taming The Family Zoo, a Gold Medallion Finalist and Angel Award winner.  He conducts parenting seminars, based on this book, nationwide.

Jim is married to the wonderful and vivacious Suzette, who is also an author and popular speaker. Jim and Suzette have 3 married children, and 4 gorgeous grand babies!
