I'm surfacing for a minute to check in. I'm between 2 major projects and have had trouble juggling my schedule to find yet another new normal. (I think this is the 3rd one this year.) A lot of little things have slipped through the cracks lately too, like noticing the funny stuff that happens every day. I saw something Saturday that made me laugh out loud, so I had to post. Mitch and I were sitting in traffic waiting for the light to change. In front of us was an Audi sporting a couple of Obama bumper stickers. I have been trying my darnedest to ignor politics this year, so I tuned it out. Oh, I will go to the polls and vote in November, but I'm less than thrilled with the choices this go-around.
Mitch started to laugh and said, "Look at that!"
"What?" I said.
"That guy's bumper stickers. He taped them to the back glass! Now, there's a die hard supporter!"
I looked again. Sure enough, the bumper stickers were taped to the back glass... it was a sloppy job, too.
"That's not a very convincing endorsement," I said. "Why'd he even bother?"
I thought about that car tonight as I watched Democrat Convention coverage. Poor dumb guy. That wimpy act will get him equal grief from McCain enthusiasts and committed Obama fans alike.
It was the funniest thing I've seen this political season since coverage of Obama's visit to Springfield was interrupted by the great turkey round-up on I-44. So, I had to share. Have a great week!
