Don't go sending Christmas cards to Walter Reed hospital just yet. (See my previous post.) Thanks to Tickled Pink for blowing the whistle on this one. Apparently, this message has been flying around the web since early October. Problem: because of security reasons, the U.S. Postal Service will not accept cards or anything else addressed to "any soldier", "wounded soldier", etc. Likewise, Walter Reed will not distribute mail or packages to patients unless they are addressed specifically to them. SNOPES suggests you contact the American Red Cross if you'd like to send something. They'll give you instructions.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, three people told me that this blog has been loading s-l-o-w-l-y for the past couple of months, and seems to be getting worse.
This is about the time I started adding video clips to my blog. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. So, I've deleated some archived videos, replacing them with links so you can still view them.
Let me know if this helps!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Mitch's family Thursday. Where did we go? Bass Pro Shop! Don't laugh. Their fabulous restaurant had a yummy feast. After dinner, Mitch and I wandered around the store and had our picture taken by a big Christmas tree in the lobby. Note the price tag attached to the chair. What can I say? It's a retail operation.
It was cold here Thursday - about 30 and windy! After dinner, we went to the Nature Center (in spite of the cold) to walk off our dinner. We spotted 5 deer. Mitch was able to get a few pictures of them. This is one of my favorites.
Today we're doing Thanksgiving with my family. I don't think we can look at another turkey though, so I'm making sloppy joes. Hey, don't laugh; they go with pumpkin pie! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Get some rest. Christmas is just around the corner.
Here's the priceless finish to the WKRP clip I posted yesterday. Enjoy! And hey, if you haven't found time this week to clean the grout or bathe the dog, let it slide. Just enjoy the day.
